Charade Card Sets for the Beginning Dance student
As the advancing student moves into the Beginning Dance level, the cards reflect this change.
They now learn to improvise what is written on the card - simple charade moves are now established as the means of portraying the cards to their classmates. Adding paired skits increases acting skills.There are five different sets of cards in the Beginning Dance level. All card sets are individually encased in laminate to protect them for years of long term use.

#1 - Familiar Similes: delivers such idioms as “As right as rain or As slow as molasses”
#2 - Make a Movie: try acting out various movie themes as western, romantic or a cartoon!
#3 - Paired Skits: where partners try to act out their skills in acting scenes as
“Dog trainer and Hair dresser and client” etc.
#4 - What am I Doing: Simple mimicking skills such as
“ Licking a stamp and placing on an envelope or Driving a car”.
#5 - Tell a Whopper: Fun innocent untruths to act out such as
“Zippers keep bananas yellow or Elephants are skinny” !

I have always included these types of games in my beginning dance programs. It’s important for students to overcome shyness with acting as it will be very useful when creating dance roles. They take five minutes of class time - try them, children love playing these card games! In the Pre-Dance 4 to 6 age groups we introduce pantomime with colorful easy to to read picture cards.

Career Pantomime Set - This pantomime game encourages the beginning student ages 8 thru 12 to act out various careers such as; doctor, teacher, clown and so on. Pairing with a partner adds a new level of cooperation to the acting situation.
